This may help. http://mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=115837 I used to use Black Diamond strings...in the '60's.

SG Deluxe 1970's

You could play a midtown and see if it works for you.I would be real reluctant to pop holes in that 336.
-
I have a bunch of these. Good quality suede on both sides. Adjustable from 44" to 53". $29.99 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/levys-soft-suede-guitar-strap

I have one of each. The ES-137 I call "Dragon Breath" and the CS-336 is "Sweetness". They both rock but are totally different.

uyasgali replied to guitarhead's topic in Gibson USA
You might try the Hot Rod Deluxe it is similar to the Deville but you might like the drive and more drive function. 3-channel, 40-watt Tube Amplifier with 1 x 12" Celestion G12P-80 Speaker, Fender Spring Reverb, and Bright Switch The FENDER® Hot Rod Deluxe™ III carries on one of the world's most popular lines of guitar amplifiers. Armed with a pair of 6L6 power tubes. A 1x12 extension cab is available for it also. -
Jailhouse Lemon Baily or if I use my other name:Yella Chicken White
-
I use the Ernie Ball Super Locks. The mechanism seems to be a better engineered product.
-
Ed Roman has passed away... You might look into RS Guitarworks. They do some really nice refinishing work.
-
Mine has the same thing. It is a three-piece neck and nothing is wrong with it.
-
I think that is the way they work. My es137 does that as well. I just turn it up if it isn't loud enough. As long as each position is different tone-wise you should be good.Combined with your three way switch, the varitone gives you a lot of sounds at the twist of a knob.
-
Did the tone change in each position?

Acosutic players, how can I bond more with my Les Paul ?
uyasgali replied to EuroAussie's topic in Gibson Acoustic
All you need to do is play it. Try it, it's fun! -
Here is a starting point. Neck Pickup 3/32" on bass and treble side Bridge Pickup 1/16" on bass and treble side If you find that the guitar is hard to tune you may want to lower the pups. You also want to be sure the volume balance is good to your ears. Good luck and don't forget to have fun with it.

It is true. The only variation of a Gibson p90 is a soapbar or dogear model.
