long time gibson player and a old man.I came on this site to comment on the demise of nitrocellulose finishes. Fortunately my Gibson guitars are pre 2006 and has the desert burst on the Les Paul and the vintage sunburst on the J45. I believe that all the issues pertaining to nitro finishes has to do with waste recovery after the paint shop and very little to do with anything else.
