    Angus Cherry VOS

the only problem i can see, is the boltz....i mean, it's kinda sorta his thing, i mean it's even so much like it's his stage thing, so......for me i know i can't really deserve to cop it. But, f' he's puttin out for sale so....let it roCK!

For me, this is just the most gosh darn gorgeous SG I've ever seen. From the deep rich red, to the big wide headstock...the bevels, the white switch plate kissing the pickguard, ebony board, maple neck....it's the ultimate. The bolts.... are a nice balance between a subtle / over the top tribute to one of the world's greatest rock n rollers. Now, if it had a big angus script logo, or a cartoon devil thing....deal breaker, no can do.
  5. the one to get is the aged, signed by Angus model. Even at 9 G's , it's a steal....

the big headstock has pretty much ruined the look of the more usual standard size, for me. it looks diminutive and puny.

  8. i want the new signed angus SG. (edit by Mod) i need more money!!!!!!!
  9. For me it's Tommy Emmanuel, sure he's got chops galore but his music doesn't do anything for me. His boogie woogie thing.... it's got no mojo.
  10. angus young......not! angus rules!!!!!
  11. The guitar still sounds real nice.
  12. I guess the two issues with the PlateMate are; Does it work? and, Does it effect tone? It definitely works very well to secure a pin in a worn out bridge hole. As to tonal change, I can't really say. Before I put the PlateMate on, I was using an old set of phosfur bronze strings. After I installed the PMate, I switch to 80/20 strings. The 80/20 strings always sound different to me, so I'm not sure if the tonal change is from the 80/20' or the PMate. When these strings wear out, I'll try some phosfurs and let you know what I hear.
  13. Today I received a Mitchel's PlateMate in the mail. Installation took about 4 minutes. No more pin poppin out! Really nice, fast service from Mitch over at mitchelsplatemate.com
  14. the auto tuning really works eh? must be nice. congrats on the guitar and the gigs

    Raw Power $?

Any know or can make a good guess as to how much a Raw Power SG will cost? List price is $1600
  18. The smokey pickguard over the maple SG is sweet! Couple years of wear and tear and that beast is gonna be knarly
  19. Anyone know what year Zappa's SG is from? I had one just like it, same bridge and tuners.
  20. I'm having a little trouble with my J-45. Seems the wood inside the bridge is wearing out in the low E hole. This causes the pin to pop out when I tune it up. I'm pretty sure it's the wood wearing out because I tried a new pin to no effect. Has anyone else experienced this? What is the cure? Will Gibson cover this under warranty, It's a '96 limited edition. Thanks:-k
  21. with an even, smooth curve from one side to the other? mine is compound, like in the video before he humidifies it. I've been using dampits, but the curve won't correct.
