    Yes it is, my friend. I p/x'd another one I didn't like (had factory fitted Seymour Duncans in it).

    Just used it for the first time in anger today - final rehearsal for our Slash / Myles Kennedy tribute band, before doing our first two gigs in Cardiff, Aug 2 and 3. It's wonderful. A heavy beast (over 10.5 lbs), but very nice to play.

    Not been here for a while... anyway, here's what I bought today. It's a 2005 Standard and it absolutely barks!

    I've got a neck p/u cover, but a need a bridge one (nickel). I ain't paying £49 blooming quid for one, which is the only one I can find. Any pointers, friends?

    Been in about an hour now. Loaded up. Drove 35 miles. Unloaded. Set up. Played for 2 hours to a small audience. Set down. Loaded up in the rain. Drove 35 miles in the dark and rain. Unloaded in the rain. It's a long way to the top... [rolleyes]

    Old vs new - I want the truth!

    I'm sure we've read a lot over the years about old and new model Les Pauls. Which are better? Are the only new models that can touch the old for quality the ridiculously expensive models (I mean the custom shop £5K + stuff)? Or are we now spoiled for choice, with the Standard being an excellent model, akin to the Standards of old?

     

    Really, the only people who can answer this are those who've tried and compared old vs new. I await your comments with baited breath. [thumbup]
