  1. Aha! I found another one just like it with some advanced googleing. https://www.dominicblaazer.net/copy-of-new-equipment. Perhaps not the one-off I thought but rare nonetheless it seems.
  2. Thanks for taking a look and helping me figure out the image issue. Pics added. Truss rod looks as expected. Nothing under the pickups.
  3. Greetings, I have owned this '89 junior for maybe 10 years. It is from the period where they were making the DC reissues. However, this one is weird and I want to know if I am dealing with something kinda unique and perhaps collectable~ish or nah. In the late '80s they were making the DC reissues then with rosewood fretboards. This one is ebony. The headstock logo on mine is mother of pearl inlay and not the decal sticker you seen on juniors from this time. I called gibson and talked with a tech many years ago. The guy on the phone thought that since this guitar was made prior to the custom shop, that it was likely a custom order guitar. He then asked that I follow up the call with an email and pictures, which I did. Of course he never responded and I just let it go. Any opinions here on this situation? How often did gibson switch up wood and decals on this model. My guess is not often. Any value in a one off like this? I am going to take it to a local luthier as well, for all I know it could be a frankenstein. Edit to add these pics. Opinions appreciated!
  4. Just sayin' hi. I have perused these forums from time to time looking for info on guitars that I'm interested in and looking up specs and used market prices, yada. I have had many lower end gibsons over the years mostly because I consider myself an average player and it is hard to justify price tags. Right now I have three gibsons. An '89 junior (which I will post about a bit later), a newer and very nice playing special, and a les paul custom lite from 2014. In the past I have owned a couple other specials (one in particular - a '94 and still kicking myself for selling it...), a studio, an L6s, and a sonex. I haven't bumped up into standard territory yet, but the urge it starting to crop up... So, hello.
