I've seen and used a program called "Lyrics" on Android that watches what song you are playing via your media player and displays the lyrics on the screen (it DLs them from the Internet). Pretty slick. I've come up with a way to add this but I'd really rather not add the Android device to my show. Instead I'd rather do this on my PC and even better, if there were a way to obtain a song name from Deckadance and shoot that over to the plug-in or memory resident program and allow me to display the lyrics on a monitor or two. I found a couple of PC programs (Musicmatch) that sort of do what's needed except they're strapped to either Windows Media Player or ITunes. Ugh. A plug-in makes sense but so far I've not found the secret sauce. ANY THOUGHTS on adding lyrics via some output from Deckadance either to the host machine or to an additional box??
  2. Kensington "Orbit" Trackball VERY cool "Scroll Ring" you can set up to spin your way to a tune you want. FAST select and scroll. Just right. Just say "no" to your mousse.
  3. Maybe it's just a Florida thing but I am seeing more and more DJ shows that feature live musicians. I do it and it goes over really well (I go right out to a table and play bass along with "Birthday" by The Beatles - much better than traditional birthday music). Anyway, a method to REVERSE tune - you tune the music - not your instrument. I'm begging for this functionality bro.
  4. I see said the blind man. Just wondered. I STILL want a real time way to tune a sound file up and down in pitch to match a pitch I choose as in, tune the song - not your instrument. Nobody seems to grok this idea. Sundog

  7. Hi Luis. I saw this on the Stanton DJ site er, how do I attach a screen capture? It's not at a URL - it's on this computer. Anyway, go to the Stanton DJ site and watch the images roll. Soon you'll see an ad for Deckadance 2.7. Waz zat? Oh, discovered how to attach but my screen shot JPG is too big an UPload. Bummer. Sundog
  8. Is there actually a Deckadance 7? What's up?
  9. At the end of a gig, I really like to produce a performance list of the music I played THAT evening. I currently write down each song but things can get crazy and I might miss one. CAN Deckadance perform this function? Offer a formatted output of any particular "Show"? I'd like a DBF as I work in databases but others would appreciate an HTML output or CSV. A SUPER add on for your great software. One other thought would be to add a button in DD that would indicate a "request" and that would be highlighted in the output list. I'd like to keep track of how many times a song is requested.

Thank you Luis. I'll go watch 'em. I can't truly think of a reason I'd need to do this but you never know. DD as a plug in? Hmmmm

  12. I had a night. I had an embarrassing thing happen. I played a song in my 4th set that I had played in the 1st. Oops. I looked at the guy that insisted he buy me a drink every 10 minutes (yeah, like it's HIS fault!), and then I looked at Deckadance and thought wouldn't it be cool if .... I would like some sort of easily accessible rolling list of song/show history. Each song I play tonight, each song I played last night, last gig, etc. So if I play "Kashmir" on Friday night, my list would show I'd played Kashmir and perhaps by color/font I could be shown when LAST played (date, time, gig, set), how many times played (per week, per month), a caution indicator showing perhaps that I played a song last week, TIME played when played last and so on. This info should also be formatted for a tasty printout with comments. I'd like to keep a printout from EVERY gig I do. I'd like historical data on gigs, songs, times, locations (in FL, indoors/outdoors). I'd like a log of what I do each show. IF I was running MIDI controllers, I could think of a way to do what I'd like but I am not using MIDI at this time. This information could be a big help statistically and practically. Just thinkin' !! Does DD run on a database?

Has anybody else used Deckadance as a plug-in? Wow, Cubase and DD. What COULDN'T you do?
  14. I agree completely. An "effect" is just that but if it's overused, it's drivel. I use mine sparingly for sure. Applause is good! Bring your own!
  15. A feature I find that is very popular with crowds is sound effects. Somebody giving you a hard time in the crowd? A quick "F you AHole" from Arnoldt works well! You see a guy really getting "friendly" with a girl, point them out to the crowd and trigger some Star Trek, "Captain, we're being probed"! I have been using an Akai MX8 USB powered sample player (~ $100 + SDRAM). 8 keys to trigger a sample and, of course, you can select different "sets" of samples. I also have software running on my lighting computer called "Soundplant" that does a similar job to the MX8 (and I can trigger samples remotely with WIFI). Each key on your computer is assigned a sample and it works in the background so that in my case, I can go dim some lamps, reset a scene and still be immediately able to hit a key and Sam Kinnison comes belting out. VERY neat. Do YOU use sound effects? HOW??
