jrd509
I am considering purchasing a Gibson es-335, and am wondering what the main differences are between the Gibson ES-335 Satin Finish and the Gibson ES-335 Dot Plain-top with Gloss Finish. Is it worth spending the extra $750 for the Gloss Finish? Thanks
BR TOAD
If you can afford the Gloss finish you will see that it has a little richer tone as well as being much more visually acceptable.. I own a 68 ES 335 Cherry with the Gloss finish it is much richer in the visual and has a much better ritualistically.. well worth the extra $$ *)o(*b
Versatile
Firstly, any 335 IMO is a wonderful thing... Again IMO it would be difficult to hear much difference in tone...if all other spec details are the same... The cheaper guitar does appear to offer outstanding VFM The Epi Dots are highly regarded in these forums Personal quiver has included plain top Dot(vintage sunburst) and currently figured top Dot(triburst) V
khs
I tried both. Couldn't tell difference in sound. The gloss just looked better (to me).
