Speaker4TheDead
I just had the pleasure of walking into a guitar shop and finding a 1979 Silverburst Les Paul Custom in decent shape at at very good price! Needless to say, I bought it on the spot. The original pickup were replaced at some point in its life and I'm trying to find out what type of pickups came stock in that model. As for as my limited research has shown it seems that they may have been the "T-Tops" with Patent # 2,737,842 with the Chrome/Nickel pickup covers. Any one here know for sure? Thanks! -MIKE
cjsinla
The hardware was most likely regular chrome, not nickel. Gibson was using T-tops and Super Humbuckers during that era. If you can find pics, the T-tops are the ones with that patent number visible.
cjsinla
My best gues would be T-tops based on these pics. 1979 LP
