bmarriott
Hello everyone; I am trying to find out information on my pearl white Gibson Super 400 - Western Sky edition. Dated to May of 1992, basicly a pearl white oval hole Super 400, with white perloid pickguard. While there used to be a page on Gibson's website about it, it seems after recent renovations it no longer exists, (I assume you may be able to find it on archive.org) but it had little specific info on the guitars. How many were made, what years, etc. That page mentioned the finishes as in pearl white and honey 'burst, and I would love to find a picture of the latter. There is a picture on Photobucket.com, not sure if I have linked it properly. If this does not work, I can try something else if you want to see it. http://i413.photobucket.com/albums/pp21 Any specific information on this guitar would be wonderfully appreciated, and would love to see a pic of that 'honey burst version. bmarriott
Hello again; In regards to my Super 400 Western Sky: So, I cannot seem to get the photobucket thing right, so I have put the guitar pic up on my Hagstrom Guitar website, easy to find. http://HagstromWorld.com/western1.jpg and while you are there, you can check out the world of Hagstrom Guitars (Swedish ones, not the new Asian reissues...) http://HagstromWorld.com Bill Marriott SF Bay Area

uburoibob
Hi, I owned one of the Sunburst ones. House of Guitars in Rochester, NY had two of them. It was beautiful, but I never bonded with it and sold it in 2000 to someone in Arizona. I'll try and dig up photos if I have them anywhere. They made a total of six, from what I understand. I don't know how many were white and how many were sunburst, though. Hope this helps. Bob
Drbitenc
My understanding is that only six Western Skys were made most were Honeyburst. I currently have one and had another when they first came out. I also played a white one at the Gibson booth in Phoenix in the mid 1990s. There is a Japanese book translated to English called THE Gibson published in 1996 and it lists the Western Sky as in limited production the book includes specs and a picture of a white one. Danny W.
I was the original owner of one of these in sunburst. It was a beautiful guitar, but I decided that 18" guitars are just too big for me, so I sold all my Super 400's. Danny W.
