deepfreeze
I own an ebony SG standard that I bought new a couple years ago. The guitar ended up suffering a broken headstalk and some serious cosmetic damage. I paid a fortune to have the guitar repaired and the entire neck refinished. The guitar now looks beautiful and plays better than ever. Unfortunately, I lost the serial numbers when the guitar was refinished. I am concerned that if the guitar is ever misplaced or stolen I could be SOL without a serial number on the instrument. I thought of creating my own serial # and have it engraved. What would you guys suggest I do? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Dynadude
I'd suggest using the original number, right back on the headstock where it was. You can get number stamps off ebay.
