LefthandJoe
I am looking for an aged (long) pick guard for my 355. It originally came with a tortoise bound guard, and I am looking for a black one, along the lines of what Montreux does, but seem not be able to find the "right" one. http://www.thomann.de/de/montreux_1914_historic_collection_pg.htm This would be the style i am looking for, any hints? cheers josef
Jayyj
If you want a guard that looks authentic but just black rather than tortoiseshell, then it really needs to be bound rather than beveled. Pickguardian make them to order: http://www.pickguardian.com/options/archtops/. If you don't mind having the bevel for the edging effect rather than binding, there are loads of people who can cut one for you, just Google custom made pickguards.
