Big Shrek
I've got a Les Paul Goldtop, and found a Les Paul Pee Wee that I thought would be perfect for my twin 4yr old boys... you know, a good learning guitar...but for some reason I just can't seem too get it tuned right!! It has brand new DR Neon strings to go with the Online lessons... I'm using a Super Snark, which SHOULD get the tuning correct... Using EADGBE, startng with the bottom string and working up, or have I lost my marbles?? But for some reason it just doesn't sound right...Help?? I tune my Goldtop by sound, know it by heart, but the Pee Wee seems to be off a bit... just can't get it to sound like a normal guitar, much less anything else... Pete B
Does it sound ok in open tuning? And, have you tried tuning at the twelth fret? I have one of those shortscale SG's and they are a pain to set up properly.
Jon S.
The short scale models, such as the Epiphone Vee-Wee, Les Paul Pee-Wee, and Maestro Mini-V are not designed for standard tuning due to the much shorter scale length. For information regarding tuning this type of guitar, please see the user guide here http://images.epiphone.com/Site-Images/Support/Manuals/PeeWeeInstrcSht_lr.pdf . http://www2.gibson.com/Support/FAQ.aspx
