bjlevine
Well, actually, I don't want to date her...just maybe buy her. :D I was in a pawn shop yesterday, and they had an ES-125 ridiculously cheap. It was pretty aged (the finish was well worn), had two black plastic pickups, cheap looking tuners, but an authentic looking Gibson logo. Any way to tell the age of this guitar and if its authentic? nolongermike@gibson
That sounds like an ES-125. They are not as collectible as you might think, so don't pay too much. Without seeing it, I'd say its unlikely anyone bootlegged a 125 model, so its probably authentic. If you want the age, you'll need to get the serial number and call customer service, 24/7 at 800-4GIBSON
