Paul 2
I’m restoring a beautiful Epiphone Rivoli made in Kalamazoo in 1964-5. I have managed to find a switch for the ‘baritone’ option. However I’m finding the guitar very ‘earthy’ – you know the problem – the ground hum that goes away on touching the metal parts! I have replaced the pots (CTS) and caps trying to locate a dry joint but so far can’t improve the situation. I’m beginning to think it may be the inductor/choke? Can you advise a replacement? Is it 15 Henrys? This guitar was played in my band in Liverpool in the 1960’s as part of Merseybeat and is a valuable icon. I want to get it back to original Kalamazoo spec – please can you help?
