Hey Ashton--

 

Try gbase.com (click on the embedded link, and you'll get there right from this post). You'll be amazed at the options for searching, and you'll see that they have a lot of great gear. They are a general posting site for small guitar shops throughout the United States. I think you'll have good luck looking for what you want over there.

 

That being said, I also think the best way is to find a way to get hands-on interaction with a used guitar. If possible, find a shop at gbase that is near you, and take the time to get there and try out not just one, but a lot of guitars. And don't get too stuck on what it must look like or be before you have a lot of time experiment with what you like.
