binjo53
My dad used to have an ES model (?) that was purchased in the early to middle 1950s. It was the first guitar I ever played but I cannot find another one like it (I haven't seen the guitar in 40+ years). Here's the description as I remember it: Similar to an ES 335 but single cutaway (rounded horn like the 335, not like an ES 137) 2 humbucking pickups 2 volume 2 tone controls blonde finish on back and sides with a gold top (just like a 57 Paul). Rosewood fretboard I would love to identify this guitar just to be able to see one again. Any ideas or hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! spitball
Humbucker pickups were first made in 1957, so maybe your memory of the time or of the pickups is off. The body style you describe sounds like an ES-350, which came with P90 pickups Here's a page showing an ES-350 with a gold top (and back): http://www.piersphilo.co.uk/es350.htm
