seeburg220
I picked up a 70's-era, Japanese 12-string today. I want to replace the machine heads, as the worm gears seem to slip. Any suggestions on brands/types? Amazon has them as cheap as $13, but I know you get what you pay for with stuff like this. Any links to a specific recommended set of machine heads would be appreciated. Also, the guitar is missing any serial# info and the tag inside the sound hole, and has a strategically-placed water splotch on the model # It's a Texan-12 and is stamped FT and then smeared. I assume it's a 160. Thanks! https://photos.app.goo.gl/PYZVxucW1PXPdUqY6 ps - Administrator - 500kb max on a jpeg is ludicrous! That's something from 25 years ago. ksdaddy
Are the tuners individual or are they on a strip? If they’re individual and you’re willing to do a little tinkering on them while keeping an open mind, I can help. If you’d rather just swap them out, that’s fine too.
