3stepbend Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I'd like to swap out the EMG pickups in my son's Schecter Hellraiser with a set of Gibson Pups...Just looking for recommendations. (He's 14, btw) He has come to the store with me and played a few Les Paul's and really likes them. Unfortunately, I don't recall the specific models, but they all cost around $2K if that helps...(probably not...) I'd like to get him a Les Paul one day, but for now, we were thinking a pickup swap would be good. The EMG's are very generic sounding to me, kind of dull...although lots of output. He plays a lot of classic rock...he especially likes AC/DC, but also plays things from Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Green Day, Ozzie and Black Sabbath...but lately has been dabbling with some blues and some ZZ Top. What do you guys think?
Gibson Gear01 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 A great place to start would be a 57 classic plus for the bridge position, and a 57 classic for the neck position.
