3stepbend Posted April 22, 2009 Share Posted April 22, 2009 I'd like to swap out the EMG pickups in my son's Schecter Hellraiser with a set of Gibson Pups...Just looking for recommendations. (He's 14, btw) He has come to the store with me and played a few Les Paul's and really likes them. Unfortunately, I don't recall the specific models, but they all cost around $2K if that helps...(probably not...) I'd like to get him a Les Paul one day, but for now, we were thinking a pickup swap would be good. The EMG's are very generic sounding to me, kind of dull...although lots of output. He plays a lot of classic rock...he especially likes AC/DC, but also plays things from Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Green Day, Ozzie and Black Sabbath...but lately has been dabbling with some blues and some ZZ Top.
