Tom408 Posted April 16 Share Posted April 16 New to Gibson guitars. A friend has asked me to repair her Gibson acoustic with a cracked neck. Not being familiar with Gibsons, I think its a 1969. I have a plan on gluing and reinforcing the neck. But my question(s) are on finish. I will have to do some sanding and will need to refinish I'm not trying to make the finish disappear, so it doesn't have to match perfectly. The neck is already a slightly different color than the body so I'll probably want to refinish the entire neck. I was planning on using some type of stain to match and then clear satin lacquer.
