Django à Liberchies is an exceptionnel annually music festival, since it is located in the birthplace of Django Reinhardt(1910-1953), the famous Manouche jazz guitar player who died way too soon...(Liberchies is a small village in Belgium, Europe)

Several great guitar players stood at Liberchies in past editions. Past weekend, the festival celebrated for the seventh time Django's legacy with among others, performances of Raphael Fays, The Piotto's and top of the bill, Philip Catherine. I had the chance to take some pics of Catherine's workhorse; this is for all you jazz guitar fans:

Nice Guitar.

How was his performance?

=D>

Just magnificent CAman! I'm a great fan of his music from the early beginning and I've seen Catherine playing before in different combinations( solo, trio, quartet, with big band) but this performance was one of the best I've ever seen. He stood up with a trio(youngsters: guitar player Quintin Liégeois and violin player Alex Cavalière)that played BRILLIANT ...for an audience that was stiffened from the freeking cold...but the music was a very warm welcome. I wrote some reviews on amazom.com regarding his music, if you're interested just click on:
