chatterbox
the les paul special tv yellow singlecut is one of my favorite les paul model and now that I have the money to buy one, I don't know wich one I should get : the historic re-creation or the new VOS...I just want to know the differences between these and which is the best. What I know now is that the historic reissue has a hi-gloss finish, the neck is thinner and it's 300$ more expensive than the VOS...Is the quality the same for both? does one feel more `custom shop`than the other? Tim Plains
They're both the same guitar. They're both historic reissues. The one that is not shinny (VOS) is $300 less because there is less time/labor involved and the guitar does not go through the final buffing stages. Same quality, same everything. delawaregold
Historic Reissues come in either VOS or High Gloss. The High Gloss version takes more finishing work to polish it to that High Gloss, so there is a $300 upcharge. Other than that, same guitar. hank
Late to the discussion. Yes, the gloss is more expensive. I just acquired a new one in limed mahogany (correct color name ..... but generally known as TV yellow). Superb guitars! A really nice change of pace from humbuckers tonally. hank
