If you buy cheap junk guitars you will almost definately get rid of them, trade up, meander around looking for something better & spend twice as much or much more until you get something of quality! What you have is quality, no more or less than a LP studio just different. I have a 1976 LP Standard & a 1983 Gibson Firebrand LP & they are great but don't see as much action as my SG 90 double but there are a couple other guitars I play as much as the SG. Keep the SG & play some LP's & see if you think you want or need one. If the what, need & money for an LP come together get one but the axe you have is an awesome place to start & maybe even finish!
