Robin Nahum
I am checking out a 1979 ES355 TD (according to the Norlin era label) but a few things seem anomalous and I was wondering if anybody would care to advise. It has two output sockets on the edge and it doesn't appear that there was ever one on top. I thought outputs on the edge only came in the 90s. It is non-varitone - but then again the label just says "TD". Were many non-varitone 355s made as late as 1979? It is fitted with a TP6 tailpiece. The horns look a bit thinner and pointier than, say, those on my 2002 ES345 - but maybe this is an illusion caused by the wider binding? The f-holes are bound. Any thoughts? Serial number is 7ddd9041. Thanks RN
Robin Nahum
I should clarify. The label just says that it is a TD. Also, the truss rod cover has the word "STEREO" embossed in it. And the join between the neck and the body is not smooth. RN
Robin Nahum
And it is wine red - or something close to it.
