Gibson J-45 TV?

It is a music venue...but they have a little guitar store in there too. Has an interesting selection of entry level insturments (recording king, tanglewood, eastman etc) but has some interesting used stuff too...the the J-45, some martins and some resonators. Also has some banjos and mandolins....

 

Its worth a look if you're in the area...

How does everyone feel about buying Gibsons on-line without having played the actual guitar you're buying? I ask that because I have read so many comments about Gibsons not being consistent. I keep hearing "play before you pay" and so forth. Unfortunately the only J-45 I was able to find like I want and at a good price is from a store in another state so it will have to be shipped to me. I'm just a little unsure what to do at this point...

Think I'm right in saying they used adirondack in a limited 2008 'VOS' run, then changed the 'standard' TV line to use it in 2009. But within that I believe there are variations; still not 100% that mine is adirondack by looking at it
