guitom
I installed an I-Beam in my Nick Lucas and the the strapjack doesn't protrude far enough through the guitar. When I screw on the retaining nut, I can't barely plug the guitar cord in. I have the internal hex nut down as far as it will go and it still isn't long enough. Has anyone had this issue? Do you know if the NL has an extra thick end block? Thanks.
L5Larry
Sounds to me like you just used (or were furnished) the wrong kind of jack. Here's the best endpin jack available, it threads directly into the tailblock from the outside, no nuts required, so it doesn't matter what the thickness of the block is, and in this case, the thicker the better. This is the style you have to use on archtops, for you can't reach into the body with a nut anyway. http://cgi.ebay.com/Switchcraft-1-4-Stereo-End-Pin-Jack-Acoustic-4600-001-/180521537756?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item2a07ec10dc PS: I just checked my link and I see it is for a "stereo" jack, you would just need the mono version, but you get the idea.
