wwpete521281734008
Have any of you ever used Tonerider Alnico IV Classic pickups? I hear that they are better than GFS '59s.
glenn1281733995
I installed a Tonerider "Rocksong" in the bridge on my Epi LP Classic. Its a little hotter than I would have liked for old school R&R but a huge improvement over the stock pickup. I wired it up with a split coil arrangement and the single coil option sounds pretty good clean. Not as good as a dedicated single coil pup but pretty good all the same. I have never tried a GFS pup so cannot comment on the differences in the two. Pretty hard to go too wrong at the price.
booster
I've recently come across Tonerider pickups and have been wondering the same thing. There's a dealer selling new ones on ebay here in the UK and they seem about the third of the price of seymour duncans, but supposed to be as good if not better. The sound clips spund incredible. I was'nt thinking of swapping the pups out of my new epi LP custom, but at this price they look very tempting indeed. Anyone else here know much about them?
