Kenny
I am looking for information on an Epi FT-160. I just picked it up from my father who has had it in his room for some years. I don't know much about it except that the serial number is 1328. If anyone could give me some information about when it was made I would appreciate it. It is in very good condition and I would like to know what it may be worth today. Thank you.
TommyK
You FT-160 is the 12 string sister of my 6 string FT-145SB, shown in my avatar. Iconoclast is the resident expert on these blue labeled Epis. He checks in from time to time. I only dabble, but, here are a couple links to other threads that may lend you some information you can use: http://forums.epiphone.com/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=1756 Here's a 1974 price list with pictures: http://www.matsumoku.org/models/epiphone/catalogs/catalogs.html You'll find she's probably not worth a bundle of dough, but if it's 'Dad's Guitar.' , it's priceless. Check it for neck issues. Here's how I fixed mine: >> Fixing a Norlin FT << Oh, yeah the 'serial number' doesn't mean much. They weren't real sequential about applying them. Best to go by description. Type of headstock labeling, color of label, what exactly is written on the label, label color, etc. I've seen a couple itterations of the Epiphone blue label. And lastly, but MOSTLY, pics. We need pics. We likes pics.
