Epi Les Paul Antique Ivory

Hey Everybody,

 

I'm the new kid in town. It's great to have a place to ask and answer questions about our favorite pastime. I hope I can give as much as I get from this forum. Did anyone else buy the Epi Les Paul Custom Antique Ivory which was selling earlier this year? The one I got needed a setup badly. Also the quality assurance from Epiphone needs some attention. The pickguard screws were loose, some of the machine head screws were loose, and every single nut on the machine head posts was loose. The nut needs work. It seems that it's cut too deep on most strings and it makes for terrible action. Does anyone know where I can find the specs on filing the nut depth? I'll probably have to put a new nut. Has anyone had similar problems with Epiphone guitars? I've thought about changing pickups, bridge, stopbar, potentiometers. Has anyone else done these mods on a Epi Les Paul? If so, how were the results? This Epi Custom has an Alder top and Mohogany back and neck. Any advice aprreciated. Thanks.
