bradduerr Posted December 29, 2008 Share Posted December 29, 2008 I just took delivery of a brand new Epi Casino. I have not yet set it up but was wondering about the stock pickups. I have a set of Kent Amstrongs gathering dust and am thinking about using them instead of the stock ones. But before I do that I would like to hear from any one that has compared these to pickups. antwhi2001 Posted December 30, 2008 Share Posted December 30, 2008 I have used KA P94 copies on a G400 and I have the "hot" (10.5k?) KA P90 at the bridge on my doublecut. I wouldn't expect much difference, Epi P90s are usually fairly good. My only criticism on 2 P90 guitars is when the same spec is used for both bridge and neck positions the bridge always seems relatively weak to me. I prefer something slightly stronger for the bridge to balance the volume. If you have any way of checking the actual output of the pickups you have, I'd only change anything if you could combine them to get the bridge at least 1k higher than neck, if that makes sense.....
