Thunderbirder Posted January 8, 2009 Share Posted January 8, 2009 I have a few year old Korean Made Thunderbird, with the black 3 screw pickups. Standard factory fare. I'm wondering what height the pups should be roughly set to. I realise that i should just listen to the things, but was wondering if, like 6 string guitars, one sets humbuckers a little closer than single coils? I cant seem to get a spanky clean sound out of them, they always growl, even when max distance. My amp settings i've set neutral, with no eq. How close are you guys to the strings?
