lazza-101
Howdiies, new to the forum and to Epiphone guitars and I am in need of some advice please. Any tips will be greatly received as I'm not really a guitar expert. Can anybody tell me what type and gauge strings come with the EJ-200 and what would be the best strings for it. I know it depends on personal preference but any guidance would be helpful. On previous guitars I've been using light-gauge Martins but really like the sound on the EJ-200. If it's helpful I play a lot of Dashboard Confessional music and my guitar is usually tuned down 1/2 step and I do tune it out of whack sometimes. Also, the actual process of changing the strings, any advice? I'm rather hesistant as to doing this (I'm prone to break things) and any tips would be helpful. LHC- Jr.
Welcome! You can't go wrong with the phosphor bronze strings from D'Addario or Elixir. Try them both. And you'll want either 12's or 13's, you should also try both options and see what sounds and feels best for your playing style.
