Geff
Correct me if I am wrong. Zak uses EMG 81/85 on his. The Gibson rep has EMG 81/85. So why does the Epi one have something different? Other Epis use 81/85 so its not like they couldnt do it right.
kevin kyle
zakks guitars are 81/85 with the 18 volt mod (2 9v batts wired in series) i am guessing that when they first put em out the emghz were the only alternative to the higher priced actives and at the time epi did not market any emg actives on board (circa 2000,2001) and i amn guessing its whats on the build sheet since new and the guitar still sells like wildfire so its not broke no need to fix it, side note i dumped the emghz in mine for the 81/85 set with the 18 vold mod and i love it love it love it mine is a 2002 unsung factory bullseye weighing in at 10 lbs with the batts and active emgs
