Scott1281734162
Hi- I was wondering about the nut width on the Elitist Casinos. It seems that some are listed as 1 & 11/16, and others are listed as 1 & 5/8. I find that the 1 and 5/8" is a bit cramped for me and wanted to make sure that the 1 & 11/16" Elitists Casinos listed at MF are actually that wide. What's the story on these nut widths? Axe2Grind123
Best thing is to measure it yourself with a caliper, or just bring it in to a repair dept. I don't trust what the documentations sez anymore....
Redddog
I've been looking for a drop-in replacement, pre-slotted nut and I can't find one. There are like 4 different nut width measurements out there. It has to be done in the shop.
Axe2Grind123
See if it comes up in this nut finder: http://www.graphtech.com/advanced-search.html Mine didn't but it's worth a try . . . if it comes up you will have measurements from the recommended product. Scott1281734162
You won't know till you measure it yourself...my two peerless Casino's are 1 9/16 inches or 1.62...they are listed as 1.68...go figure...????? There's a store near me that has those Peerless gits in stock' date=' and they look great. [Edit: in retrospect I think you meant an Epi Casino made in the Peerless factory. There's a store near me that sells Peerless brand guitars and they have some sweet es-335 type gits that look fantastic and priced right. Pardon my confusion. I'm new around here. ] Regarding my original question, I was confused because the Epiphone web site shows their Casinos as both (regular and Elitist) having 1.68 nut widths, when the Musicians Friend web site show all Epi Casinos with 1.62. I believe the 1.62" figure is correct. I've tried 1.62" necks and just couldn't get comfortable, but love my 1 & 11/16 and 1.75" necks on my acoustics. Oh well, I'll keep my hot little hand away from my credit card for now.
DizzyFingers
Yes your right an Epi Casino manufactured at the Peerless plant...You would think Epiphone would know the nut size of their own guitars?? Not so, maybe they don't know what a vernier caliper is?? I love a small neck! They are few and far between...no problem playing chords on these guitars...unless you got big mitts...
