Bought some Gibson Classic 57 and 57plus. Heard they were great pickups. What is the difference than the stock ones on the Sheraton? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
gearhead Posted March 7, 2010 Share Posted March 7, 2010 Let's see, I believe the Gibson '57 pups come with Alnico II Magnets and the Epi's have Alnico V magnets. Difference in tone. the Gibby's should be a little "rounder" sounding, "singing" sustain. Alnico V Magnet produces a sound that is stronger, clearer, brighter, and hotter. Plus I'm sure the quality of materials on the Gibby's are much better! I'd say from the DC Resistance Charts that they are wound approximately the same.
