bill67
When to pick up a guitar that hadn't been played in a couple days how long do you think you have to play it before its at the best sound and tone?
epidotstudio
If you play well, right away. If you don't play well, never. I personally don't think a "warm-up" means a heck of a lot, except for getting the thing to settle down tuning-wise.
Bigsound
Hi, I agree with epidotstudio, but a little warm-up to your fingers doesn't hurt... There are also more complex answers to this subject, but first it would be nice to know why are you asking this? Was sound of your guitar changed in just few days? bill67
After playing for about 15 minutes my guitar to me sound a lot better than when I first pick it up and start playing I thought it was the guitar maybe its just me.
Matt the Cat
I think it's generally accepted that acoustic guitars, in particular solid woods, will loosen/warm up after 20-30 mins playing time. Kinda like having a good stretch and warm-up befor running a race? A lot of people agree, a lot don't. As with all things, it's subjective but I hear it in my guitars and you sound like you're hearing it too! Enjoy......... All the best, Matt
