Trewblue
Should have said buzz be gone. I did this to a Fender Strat w/ hss. and was amazed how well it worked. Lined all cavities with copper tape(about 1in x 4ft for around $4.00) and soldered a 14 ga wire from the back of the volume pot to the copper tape. Make sure that there is continuity between all cavities and the solder spot. I'm sure this will work just as well on any guitar . Dan
93DMTX1281734249
I'm sure this will work just as well on any guitar . Unfortunately not really feasable on my Casino. Probably wouldn't help it's acoustic qualities anyway. But, I am thinking my next project will be to replace all of the internal wiring with all shielded cable. A lot of unshielded wire in that thing and it is something of a hummer.
Guest icantbuyafender
I may have to try this in my LP ultra. she has gibson burstbucker 1&2's in her and those can get pretty noisy with high gain. If i line the cavities for the pickups, could i just ground them by soldering a wire from the copper to the vintage braided shielding of the pickup? Trewblue
I would try to hit the bridge shield. if not, the pickup shield is fine. make sure there's continuity between pickups and bridge/strings and pots. Dan
