DHiler Posted May 13, 2010 Share Posted May 13, 2010 Hi Everone, I recently inherited an Epiphone ET-270 (Kurt Cobain had one early on) and it came with some after-market pickups which are not good. However, I have heard the original pickups for this model were not good either. Has anyone on this forum had one of these guitars and do you have any tips about pickups and other customization. nigeldell Posted June 4, 2010 Share Posted June 4, 2010 I have two of these, both came with the original pickups. I modded one of them with a humbucker in the bridge position. If you plan on adding humbuckers, you will have to have the pickgaurd routed out and fitted with a mounting ring. Im not 100% but the guitar tech may have had to carve out some of the guitar underneath the pickgaurd to fit the pickup as well. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
