LongMan
what will be the best strings for this guitar? That's for the most part a matter of taste I guess. From my experience the wood and the pickups make much more difference in tone. A good starting point would be for example a D'Addario EXL110 set. Good multi purpose strings. If you are looking for more durable strings, or have problems with rust (humid practice room...) I can recommend the Elixir Nanoweb strings. They are a bit pricey, but last long, and are coated, so they do not rust in humid environment.

m-theory
Strings are purely subjective. I personally cannot STAND the coated strings, but, as you can see by Longman's reply, some do like them. I use D'Addario exclusively, myself. "Best cable" is a pretty hefty request, seeing as how the gold standard cables tend to run $224.95 for 15'! http://www.lavacable.com/buying.html
ReneBoedker
I use Ernie Ball strings, but you'll have to find out what suits you best. About the cable, DiMarzio makes some pretty good ones. But the Monster cables should be fine, and as you stated in another thread, you have already spent $ 900, so stick with whatever you have.
