I know that they started selling them around 1999 to the general public but I believe there were some available before that date as demos . Something tells me it was 1996 there were a few available . So that makes me question that THE LIMITED EDITION, USA COLLECTION JOHN LENNON CASINOS In November 1997, a team of engineers from Epiphone and Gibson visited "The Dakota" in Manhattan to examine John's Epiphone Casino. During the examination, measurements were carefully performed, body tracings were done, drawings were created, and photographs were taken. g6120 Posted August 18, 2010 Author Share Posted August 18, 2010 For some reason my wires were crossed as Ive called Gibson and found my Casino not to be a 1996 as I was told the first time I called them ???? Bought this guitar used and found it was made in 2007 August but when I called the first time they indicated it was 1996 but that would predate the whole Dakota thing . Well Ive got some answers .
