Epi Special II GT - Finishing Qs

I'm contemplating the Special II GT as a beginner's guitar for my daughter.

Specs fits the bill but I'm curious about the finishing.

Qs:

1) What is exactly the 'Worn' finishing on it?Coat of matt paint?

2) What is between this coat and the raw body? varnish?

3) Does the back of the neck coated with the same?

1) I'm not sure of exactly what process they use, but it is a matte finish. You can still see the wood grain through it.

2) Maybe some grain-filler or something. Can't say, sorry.

3) No guarantees, but I would bet on it having the same finish as the body.

The top paint is probably polyurethane, and the "worn finishes" are matte/satin.

 

As Sjael wrote, the neck (of an Epiphone guitar) would normally have the same finish as the body - there is exceptions, however.
