CRAZYWILSON
Hello all, I am very new to the forum and I am looking for some information on an old guitar that I have. It was my grandfathers guitar and I believe it is either a student model or a parlor guitar. I can't seem to find any serial number on it either. Any and all information would be a great help. tvguit
Looks like an LG-1 or 2. Can you get some better pictures of it? Hard to tell from those dark ones. Thanks
tvguit
On second look that guitar looks more like a Bozeman reissue. Are you sure it is from the 40s?
CRAZYWILSON
I am 100% sure that it is from at least the late 40's since my grandfather died in 1949 and my grandmother said he bought it a few years before he passed. As far as pictures go it may be a little while since it currently resides at my fathers house, since I have two toddlers and do not particularly want it drawn on with crayon or destroyed. Do you have any idea where the serial number would be??? THanks
ryanfender
The serial number or Factory Order Number (FON) should be stamped inside the guitar on the neck block (the big block of wood inside the guitar right behind where the neck mounts). TM
The Script only logo, as pictured on your guitar, is typically identified as from 1946. This is thought to be the only year they did this logo. Prior to this "only a Gibson is good enough" banner was under the Script. After this they want to the gibson "block" logo similar to what is seen on most current Gibson guitars. Guitars with script only logos typically do not have an FON (factory order number) on the neck block. Terry
