Lil' Tina
I recently noticed a peculiar thing; all my 3 laminate ES-archtops (a 1953 + 1958 ES175 and a 1949 ES150) have solid maple sides. Is it just that a worker happened to grab sides from the wrong shelf or is this very common practice? Anyone else noticed this?
Robin Nahum
Hi and welcome, They sound like nice guitars. I'm not sure I get your point though. Are you saying that you expected the sides to be laminate or to be a timber other than maple? If the former, I'm not surprised. It's just the top and back that are laminate.
