mgrasso
I have been looking at adding a 12 string to my collection. In my search, I decided I would buy a Breedlove 12 string. Played one and loved it. Decided to wait until Black Friday and buy it through GC on 12 months no interest. About a month ago, I came across a Epiphone 12 string made in Korea at one of our GC's in Pittsburgh (not sure of the model number now, might have been a PR 350-12) It played well and sounded great. $99. Thought about it for a week and went back the next weekend and it was gone. Oh well, back to Plan A. Yesterday, searching the local GC's used gear online, one store had an Epiphone AJ 18S-12 NA. I went out, played good. It was setup by them on 10/20/10. Great resonance and sustain. Plays great up to the 7th fret. (Will definitely get a new nut cut and bridge cut.) Nice inlays. Especially at 12 with the Sheraton style inlay. New strings. Small dings, nothing major and needs cleaned. $140. Sold. As for country of manufacture, the serial number starts with a Z, but it has a made in Korea sticker on the back of the headstock and Gibson engraved TRC. So not sure. I know that Z stands for Zaozhuang Saehan (China). Small matter since it plays and sounds great. A great little inexpensive guitar. Now for the eye candy. A closeup but not great shot of the nut.
