Sproggie
Has anyone fitted a B5 Bigsby with a V5 Vibromate plate to an ES-339? Chris
woodnhands
I have. Works fine, but closing the case tightly puts pressure on the arm. The tone might be a little les woody, but that's debatable.

Sproggie
I'll look forward to seeing the pics. I miss having tremolo on my 339 and keep going back to my Strat. I don't do any big bends so a Bigsby should be fine and if it sounds good on a 339 (and stays in tune ) maybe I'll fit a B7 without an adapter plate. Does anyone know if the Bigsby mounting holes fall on the stop bar mounting holes? Also whats the best way to blank off the stop bar mounting holes? woodnhands
For some reason I can't upload pictures. I will figure it out and post one. I installed the B5 using the vibramate adapter. No drilling, good fit, no slippage, stays in tune. The Vibramate seems to work pretty well. I played a LP Reissue recently with a B7/vibramate. Worked very well also. cjtowner
There is another kit out there called Towner Retrofit Kit www.townerusa.com You don't have to drill the body and it has a variable string tension, check it out.
