atfab
Well it's time to change the strings on my Swingster. I play a wide range of styles from finger picking to hard rock. Between the pup settings and my Vox VT30, I have lots of options but mainly keep to cleaner settings as I'm the chord guru in my circle of playing friends. Your opinions respectfully requested. Tuiblue
Did you ever swap out the factory strings? I use flat-wound fairly thick Jazz strings on gits like that. (13-56) I would have suggested D'Addario Chrome XL, but there's counterfeiting issues with those now. http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/58221-youre-not-gonna-believe-it/ If your mostly playing chords, and looking for clean tones, hard to go wrong with decent Jazz strings, but if your looking for something brighter, and more Rockabilly, then GHS Boomers may be your thing. atfab
Tuiblue, Thanks, I still have the factory strings on. I never use any thing heaver than 11's, and like them real close to the frets. I never tried the GHS srings, having been a mostly acoustic player. I have a light touch with finger and use lite gauge picks.
