Clayfingers
Hi there, I'm not sure, but the bridge on my ES-5 seems to be a bit out of place. I think it's slightly too far towards the treble strings, here's some pics: The high E is missing the pole piece on the bridge pick-up, and also is a little too close to the edge of the fretboard - it's closer to the edge than the low E. The strings are also not running straight from the tailpiece to the nut, but all seem to dip slighty down when holding the guitar in playing position. Also, as you can see the bridge is slightly angled, treble side towards the pick-ups is this correct? I'd like to shift it, but don't want to scratch the nitro or mess around with the intonation too much - any tips on how to go about it? Advice from experienced practitioners always appreciated. Versatile
I've had similar situations with archtops IMX fundamentally if the strings are running straight equally down the fretboard then everything is OK Regardless of a little mis-alignment over the pole pieces And the bridge placement is an intonation issue....I prefer mine at 90deg to the strings Particularly, as in this case the saddles are adjustable....
