guitar007
Hi everybody! I’m trying to identify an old Gibson guitar that belonged to my father, but I’m having trouble. I went through the guide on the Gibson site but I’m still not sure. The serial number of the guitar is 6 digits: $/?*?%. My dad used to play in the 70s and I’m guessing it goes back to early 70s or 60s. He really loved this guitar; it's a beauty and I'd love to know more about it. It could also help me for insurance purposes. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
L5Larry
Post a set of detailed photos and we'd be glad to help. Nothing can be determined from the serial number alone.
guitar007
Thanks for the reply! From what I've found out today, it seems to be a 1972 or 1973 SG II.
