johnny_uk
Hi I purchased a second hand 2001 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop 57 RI, murphy aged, which has been verified by Gibson Support. What I have noticed on the back of the pickups is that there is no PAF Decal or anything to suggest it is a classic 57 pick up. Was it fairly common to not have any markings on the pickup? I assume it would be a classic 57 pickup. Everything else seems perfect. Also for this year (July 2001) is it possible this guitar did not have a COA? My understanding is that Gibson stopped issuing COA's in 2000 and then re-introduced in 2001 (late 2001?). I have mailed support on this but wondered if anyone had a quick answer?? johnny_uk
Hi Gibson Customer Service were kind enough to get in touch with me. For anyones information It was fairly common not to have a "PAF Decal" on a classic 57 PU . Also for the year 2001 this particular RI Goldtop 1957 did not have a COA issued. Many Thanks Johnny
