epi-curious
I just picked up a used Epiphone acoustic. It looks like one of the old FT-145 models. The label inside says "Epiphone Kalamazoo, Michigan". Anybody know when Epiphone stopped identifying itself as being in Kalamazoo?

TommyK
Here's another thread a former poster posted years ago. This could help 'age' an epiphone, somewhat: > > > Brief Epiphone History < < < Technically, the FT145 label doesn't 'say' "Made In Kalamazoo". It just lists the name of a city in Michigan, which not so coincidentally, used to be the manufacturing plant of Epiphones up until 1971. The "Kalamazoo, Michigan" went away in about 1977 when Epiphone sales offices were moved to Lincolnwood, Illinois. At which point the labels went from the small, blue, K'zoo label to the larger, tan, Norlin Lincolnwood label.
