Hello all,

I am looking for some advise on my bird. The s/n starts with 00, denoting a 1976 year of manufacture. The finish is tobacco sunburst. When looking at the shipped numbers, it shows 25 being made in that year. I keep reading that the white firebirds are a more rare model, but there are 27 listed as being produced in 1976. The white are commanding a substantial premium over the tobacco burst, and I'm wondering if there is some misinformation about this. Even considering total made in all years, it looks like about a difference of only around 85 guitars in al (of a total of around 200).

BTW im getting this information from this site http://www.vintageguitars.org.uk/Firebird.php I believe it came directly from gibson. Any advise appreciated.

Steve.

That info does seem weird! In the original Firebird series..'63...on- Tobacco burst is the MOST common, with colors being more rare....Hmmmmmm!

Ican't help you in terms of information but that guitar seems like quite a gem. What awesome style to it!
